The intrigue over the Congress tickets for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections continues. The party, which witnesses a lot of in-fighting and controversies during the nomination process has officially declared the names of four nominees who will fight the election on behalf of the party in Assam.
In a move that is surprising but not at all unexpected, retired IAS officer and new entrant to politics MGVK Bhanu will represent the party’s interest in Tezpur Constituency.
In Nagaon, the party will field veteran Congress leader and former Minister Pradyut Bordoloi, whereas Anil Borgohain will contest for the Lakhimpur seat on behalf of the party.
The familiar face of Bhubaneshwar Kalita has been chosen to look after the party interests in Mangaldoi Constituency.
