Major Leetul Gogoi, who courted a major controversy in April 2016 when he used an alleged Kashmiri stone-pelter as a human shield in Jammu & Kashmir, has been found guilty by a court of inquiry of the Indian Army.
Sources told InsideNE that orders have been issued to initiate disciplinary action against him by the court of inquiry.
The court held him accountable for i) fraternising with a local inspite of instructions to the contrary and ii) for being away from place of duty while in an operational area.
The army had instituted a court of inquiry against Major Gogoi after he was found involved in a scuffle with the staff of a Srinagar-based hotel on being refused to check in with a young Kashmiri lady in May this year.
