BJP candidate Horensing Bey confident of winning Autonomous District Constituency

Diphu, April 2, 2019:

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate of Diphu (ST) Autonomous District Parliamentary Constituency Horensing Bey started campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections in West Karbi Anglong.

Horensing Bey was accompanied by Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang, Baithalangso MLA Dr Mansing Rongpi, President of West Karbi Anglong District Committee Arun Terang, Members of Autonomous Council (MACs), Prabhat Taro, Ramsing Timung and Reena Terangpi, and party workers and supporters.

Bey campaigned at Kheroni, Jengkha, Dongkamukam, Baithalangso, Dalimbari, and Tumpreng. Addressing a gathering, Bey expressed confidence about winning in the Diphu (ST) Autonomous District Parliamentary Constituency.

In his speech at Dongkamukam, Bey said, “We have discussed this among ourselves and come to the conclusion that we will surely win. Our concern is to increase the percentage of winning. The Congress candidate has given up already as he has admitted in private that winning for him is forgone conclusion. Now, they have reduced themselves to counting the number of vehicles and people in a BJP meeting. We will create a record margin in our winning. Making me win is making Narendra Modi win. As about development you have seen with your own eyes.”

Meanwhile, CEM Tuliram Ronghang also expressed confidence to win the elections. Ronghang said, “We will have to make BJP candidate Horensing Bey win by a huge margin. He will have to win for Autonomous State for which we have struggled for the last 33 years. For the implementation of Act 244(A) of the Indian Constitution, I request Bey that he will speak about this in parliament. Not once but every time the parliament is in session. He (Bey) has promised that he will fight for the Autonomous State in parliament. Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) are yet to be fully implemented and request that he will have to intimate the Centre time and again about it.”

The CEM further said that Bey as an MP will fight for a central university and other institutions in West Karbi Anglong. Bey will try to establish a train station at Kheroni in West Karbi Anglong, he added.

CEM Ronghang said, "All central schemes will be implemented in the hill districts of Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong, and Dima Hasao." He also urged Congress and Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC) workers and leaders to join the BJP for the sake of development, peace, and progress of the hill districts.
