Man arrested for allegedly 'murdering' 2-year-old daughter in Barpeta

Barpeta (Assam), September 20, 2018:

On Wednesday, a person was arrested by the Barpeta Police for allegedly ‘murdering’ his two-year-old daughter in Helacha Pamgaon, Barpeta.

The arrested person has been identified as Sahidul Islam who allegedly killed his daughter, Semina Yesmin on Monday night.

According to reports, after Sahidul killed his daughter, he warned his elder brother over the phone not to enter his house. But, after a while hiss elder brother, Mahidul went to his house to get his cycle and saw the child lying dead. He immediate informed the police but Sahidul managed to escape.

Following this, the police initiated a search operation and nabbed him from a house in Helacha Pamgaon.

It may  be mentioned that Sahidul had married two women and the deceased child belong to his second wife. The police are currently investigating the issue but it is not yet disclosed why he murdered his own daughter.

A case under Sections 120(B)/302/34 of the IPC has been registered at the Sarthebari Police Station against him.
