The Customs division of Imphal has seized contraband items worth Rs. five crore in Thoubal district of Manipur on Tuesday.
Based on specific information, the officers of the Anti-Smuggling unit of the Customs department have recovered around 59 soap cases of assorted color containing 708 grams of heroin powder from one individual named Illyas Khan, aged 21. 40,000 Amphetamine tablets marked “WY” worth 5 crore were also recovered from Khan.

According to reports, the individual was on his way to deliver the contraband items to a client, who is yet to be revealed. A car, bearing registration number MN 07D 3070, has also been seized in this connection.
The culprit was caught in Thoubal district along National Highway No. 102. According to police, the contraband items are worth Rs. 5,41,60,000.

A case has been registered under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) in this matter. Investigation is on to nab others involved in this case.
