Manipuri women in Assam celebrate Bihu with football match

Guwahati, April 19, 2019:

There are many ways to celebrate Bihu, and a unique way to celebrate Rongali Bihu was seen in Manipuri Rajbari at Guwahati today.

As a part of 'Manipuri Basti Rongali Bihu' and 'Bohagi Bidai', the'Chairauba Utsav' was celebrated where a Football match was organized by the locals and the women's team participated, as the women were divided into two groups which they named Panthoibai and Urangbai, and both the team consisted of 12 players.

Locals were seen enjoying the match as the Manipuri locals enjoyed the spectacle full of spirit and good cheer.

Urangbai scored the lone goal of the match and were adjudged victors.
