Married couple found dead in Guwahati lodge

Guwahati (Assam), Aug 27, 2018:

A married couple was found dead under mysterious conditions inside a room of Star Lodge in Guwahati's Beltola area on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Swarup Choudhury and Jaya Choudhury, who were residents of Bijni in Chirang district. They booked the room on Sunday evening stating that they came for some medical reasons but were found dead this morning.

The police said the couple was found dead by the hotel staff. The police had to break open the door of the room to recover the bodies. The woman was found dead on the bed while the body of the man was found hanging from the ceiling.

It was not clear if it was a case of suicide or murder. The incident is being probed by the police.
