MASSIVE PROTESTS ON THE CARDS AGAINST CITIZENSHIP AMENDMENT BILL

Guwahati, November 1, 2018:

Representatives of 29 organizations of Assam will meet the state lawmakers on November 9 and press them to oppose the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

A series of protests will also be carried out throughout the state against the conspiracy of the government to settle illegal immigrants in Assam.

A sit-in-demonstration at Dispur will also be held on November 8. Sit-in-demonstrations will also be held in all the district headquarters on November 10.

The 29 organizations will take out torchlight procession throughout Assam on November 16.

A mass gathering under the aegis of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) will be held in Guwahati to formulate the future path of the movement.

Moreover, a delegation of these 29 organisations will move the President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh with their demands.
