The Meghalaya Police have arrested a man from Jowai, Rimialson Daw, for slanderous posts against recently-deceased Archbishop Dominic Jala, who had passed away on October 10 in an accident.
The Jowai police OF Meghalaya made this arrest following an FIR filed by a Jowai resident. Authorities had received a written complaint on October 14 that one person whose name, as per his Facebook Account, Rimialson Daw posted a derogatory post on his Facebook Account, police said. The comment had allegedly hurt the sentiments of the Catholic Church.

The Superintendent of Police, Jowai, after establishing the identity of the person and contacting him, detained the person. He was then sent for a medical examination.
Meanwhile, the accused's relatives have claimed that he is mentally unstable and under treatment.
The man in question question has a colorful past on Facebook. In the past, he had also claimed to be the husband of Bollywood diva and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai. In the past, he has also claimed to be the General (Indian Army), Chief Air Marshall (Indian Airforce) and Admiral (Indian Navy).
Meanwhile, the entire state is mourning the death of the Archbishop, who died after when he was visiting a friend in California, USA.
