Meghalaya’s high recovery rate of Covid-19 cases holds out a beacon of hope amid the grim numbers of a rapidly rising number of coronavirus cases in the northeastern states.

However, the state now ranks top among ten in the country in terms of recovery as it had intensified all precautionary measures to prevent novel coronavirus in the state.

According to data based on the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Meghalaya has 52 cases of the Covid-19, among which 42 cured and discharged, 9 are under treatment and 1 died. This is a comparatively minimum record of cases in the northeast and entire states of the country.

As per data shared by Union minister of health and family welfare on Tuesday, Meghalaya’s recovery rate stands at 89.4 per cent.
And in this way Meghalaya topped with a recovery rate of 89.4%, followed by Chandigarh with 80.2% and Chhattisgarh with 78.7% Covid-19 recovery rate.
In terms of the number of deaths, the state’s performance is much better than any other states and Union Territories. While the death rate due to Covid-19 in India stands at 2.98%, is 0.64%, Meghalaya's rate is less than 1% of the total number of Covid-19 positive people in the state has died so far.
