The All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) have claimed that the militancy problem in the state has held the Northeastern region from being developed.
Speaking to the media, ABSU president Promod Boro said, "The government needs to take immediate steps to solve the militancy issues in the state. These militants and insurgents have been a major obstructing for the all round development in the entire Northeastern region."
He added that no matter how much the government claims, the NE region is still far behind in terms of development as several companies who came to the region have went back.
"The NE is a very very peaceful and beautiful place but due to the extremist present in the region, we are being compared with Kashmir. The government needs to take immediate steps to stop these", he added.
