GUWAHATI: Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has issued a revised set of guidelines today in view of the surge in COVID-19 cases in the state to be enforced from May 5 at 5 am onwards.
The guidelines included that all shops and commercial establishments must shut down at 2 pm every day as well as the private and government offices though there will be an exemption for oraganiszations rendering essential and emergency services, law-enforcing services, and election work
One can perform only the religious part of the marriage with the presence of a maximum of 20 persons. No reception parties are allowed prior to or post to such ceremonies.

Only 5 persons will be allowed to enter all religious places at a time.
On all days, restrictions on the movement of persons at public places will be enforced from 6 pm to 5 am except for the person engaged in essential and emergency services.
Restaurants and other eateries can entertain dine-in guests only up to 2 pm and takeaways can be done till 6 pm and after that only home-delivered foods would be allowed.
Delivery of e-commerce may continue by adhering to COVID-19 behaviors.
All these rules are extensions to the rules issued on April 30, 2021.
