The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has submitted its investigation report on the Panchayat and Rural Development (P&RD) Department recruitment examination anomalies for the vacant posts in the department that was held on May 2018 across Assam.
According to the report submitted by CID, there have been huge anomalies in 18 examination centres of the nine districts of the state in which 28 candidates were expelled following the act of practising unfair means in the examination hall.
There has been an allegation by various sources that candidates related to PNRD Minister; Naba Kumar Doley has acquired maximum posts. As per reports, more than 200 candidates selected for the post are related to the Minister.

The CID had submitted its report a day after the appointments for the post of the candidates were declared eligible.
