GUWAHATI: Minister for Environment and Forest, Fisheries and Excise, Parimal Suklabaidya handed out appointment letters to Fisheries Development Officers under Fisheries Department on Saturday.
At a function organised by the Department of Fisheries at the conference hall of Meen Bhawan in the city, Minister Suklabaidya gave away the appointment letters to seven numbers of Fisheries Development Officers selected by the Assam Public Service Commission.
Minister Suklabaidya exhorted upon the officers to work with dedication and sincerity for all round development of the fisheries sector. He said the state has huge potential in the fisheries sector and everyone must pitch in their efforts for optimum utilisation of resources.
The newly recruited FDOs who received the appointment letters were Naznine Firdousie, Imran Hussain, Parashmani Kalita, Rajesh Debnath, Mondeep Saikia, Shilparani Hazarika and Ajimoon Nissa.
Joint Secretary and Director of Fisheries, NK Debnath, Chairman, AFDC, Gurujyoti Das, Chairperson, FISHFED, Sushila Hazarika, Managing Director, FISHFED cum Nodal Officer, APART (Fisheries), Dr Dhrubajyoti Sharma, Fisheries Development Officer attached to Minister, Fisheries, Pratul Deka were also present on the occasion.
