MLA Mrinal Saikia gets commission from spurious liquor syndicate: Akhil Gogoi

Guwahati, February 23, 2019:

Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi on Saturday alleged that MLA Mrinal Saikia gets a commission from the illegal activities and the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) major revenue source is earned from the selling of spurious liquor.

The KMSS leader announce that the organization will stage protests on February 24 demanding a total ban of the spurious liquor in the state and immediate transfer of Golaghat Superintendent of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police

Addressing the media, Gogoi said, “This is the biggest tragedy that has happened in the North East after independence that has killed so many people. This is not only a tragic incident but a criminal incident that took place. And obviously, the excise, health, police, and district administration involved in it. Only because of this the tea garden workers had to lose their life in such great numbers. Just like the Britishers killed people by providing opium, the BJP government is using this spurious liquor. This is the main revenue of the BJP government and MLA Mrinal Saikia gets a commission from these syndicates.”
