Morigaon, August 23, 2019:

Locals of Morigaon, Assam held four suspects in dog smuggling. The suspects were held in Moirabari when they were allegedly trying to smuggle the dogs to neighboring dogmeat market in Nagaland.

“I was returning from the market when I saw two guys with sacs, ropes and everything else. As I came closer, I saw that the sacs were tied to the carriers of the bicycles,” said a local resident. He added that the sacs had dogs and they were not in a healthy condition.

“The dogs seemed like they were given some medicine. They were not looking right. So, I called the local police,” he said.
