Musician-activist Kishor Giri passes away

Guwahati, October 7, 2018:

Veteran musician-activist Kishor Giri passed away on Sunday. He breathed his last at his Kharghuli residence in Guwahati.

He was 63.

Giri was a face of protest in Guwahati. During every artificial flood here, he was seen moving around city thoroughfares holding a guitar and belting out satirical notes. His target had been invariably the civic authorities and the state government.

In the past few days, the activist was seen on the streets promoting Rima Das’s movie ‘Village Rockstars’ for Oscar. He was a regular visitor at the Guwahati Press Club.
