Nagaon Paper Mill worker commits suicide over non payment of salary

Guwahati, April 29, 2019:

A Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited, Nagaon Paper Mill worker has committed suicide today at the hostel room for not receiving salary for the last 28 months.

The deceased has been identified as Biswajit Mazumdar.

As per reports, the number of suicide cases has risen to 55 including both Nagaon Paper Mill and Cachar Paper Mill.

Speaking to Inside North East, one of Mazumdar’s colleagues mentioned that he had been disturbed over the financial condition saying his daughter’s studies will be stopped as he could not send her fees. His daughter and wife reside in Kolkata. He could not carry the burden.

One more person had committed suicide yesterday in Cachar Paper mill, he added.

The co-worker of Mazumdar appealed the Government to either pay their salaries or kill them all just like Hitler. "It will stop killing our people on a daily basis", he stated.
