Naked Protest staged by SMSS in front of Assam Secretariat on Friday

Guwahati, 1st February, 2019:

Amidst strict orders by the administration, Satra Mukti Sangram Samiti has marked its first naked protest in front of Janata Bhawan on Friday which is the first of its kind in the history of Assam. The protest was to mark against the controversial Citizenship (amendment) Bill, 2016.

The protesters have been identified as Harakanta Das, Bubul Das and Sonaram Das. Later the Dipur police detained the naked protesters. The protest has happened just 50meters away from the Dispur thana and in front of the Assam Police. Janta Bhawan, the Assam secretariat is a high security zone in the capital city.

Notably a massive naked protest was also staged at the capital city of New Delhi in front of the Parliament during the Lok Sabha session on January 7.
