GUWAHATI: As part of a UNICEF campaign, Sarbananda Sonowal, the Chief Minister of Assam handed over his official Twitter account to 18-year-old Vandana Urang from Namrup Tea Estate in Upper Assam's Dibrugarh. Urang, who is the leader of the 'Muskan Adolescent Girls Group', has been chosen to promote the message of education in the post-COVID era.
Taking over the CM's account, Urang wrote, "Namaskar, my name is Vandana Urang from Namroop Tea Estate, Dibrugarh, Assam. On #WorldChildrensDay, I am taking over the CM Office twitter account to talk about my journey & share my opinions on how we can reimagine education in a post-pandemic world."

In another video, Urung informed that she did her schooling from Namroop Lower Primary School, and now is studying at the Namroop College.
Later, in a series of tweets, Urang, through the CM's profile, highlighted the activities of the Assam State education department during the ongoing pandemic situation.
"I feel that the environment in schools plays an important role – a good environment and innovative teaching methods, along with awareness on things like the ill-effects of use of addictive substances – will encourage children to continue and complete their education," another tweet from the CM's account, seemingly written by Urang, said.
In another video uploaded to the CM's official profile, members of the 'Muskan Adolescent Girls Group', led by Urang, can be seen interacting and learning. "My friends from the Muskan Adolescent Girls Group have been an important part of my journey so far. We meet up regularly to discuss topics from gender equality, importance of menstrual hygiene to opportunities which concern our future employment," the caption to the video reads.
Interestingly, something akin to this was also witnessed in the 2001 Bollywood film 'Nayak' starring Anil Kapoor. In the cult film, Amrish Puri, who plays the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, voluntarily relinquishes his position of power to Anil Kapoor for 24 hours.z
