The National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) has called a 12-hour Assam Bandh tomorrow after the sentencing of life-imprisonment to its Chief Ranjan Daimary and nine other cadres involved in the 30 October 2008 serial bomb-blast in Assam.

According to reports, shops and other business institutions have already been shut down due to the tensed situation in the rebel group stronghold of Udalguri. Following this, the Assam police have tightened the security in the Bodo-dominated areas in the state.
