Daimary was serving life imprisonment in the 2008 serial bomb blasts case. His lawyer had filed a petition seeking his bail, following which, a bench of the Gauhati High Court granted him the four-week bail. The Assam government and Ministry of Home Affairs have also issued a ‘No Objection’ notice in the interest of the peace process.

Ranjan Daimary, along with nine others, was given life imprisonment by a special CBI court for carrying out the deadly serial bomb blasts in Assam.
