Kokrajhar, February 9, 2020:

Dreaded Nationalist Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militant M Batha, it appears, has a tender side to him as well. A side that has left a large section of the internet in tears.

Recently, a video that shows the returned insurgent Batha reuniting with his daughter has found its way to social media where it has already gained 'viral' status (meaning it has been seen and appreciated by many).

In the video, Batha can be seen reuniting with his family after a long time away in exile in the jungles. At one point, Batha's daughter beckons him from behind and as soon as the father's eye meet the daughter's, she gives a nod of assent, of appreciation.

Batha can also be seen interacting with many others, and women can be seen touching the insurgent leader's feet out of reverence.

The video, shared by a Facebook community 'Switoban', has racked up over a mammoth 17,000 views and been shared 264 times.

Netizens, meanwhile have reached the consensus that the video is truly heart-touching as it shows the human-element amidst the armed insurgency struggle, that is very much a part and parcel of living in India's Northeast Indian region.

Facebook user Dhani Basumatary, reacting to the video, wrote, "This view touches my heart. very emotional moment. tear flowing my eyes, god bless their hardcore families."

NDFB (S) leader M. Batha on January 22 crossed the border from Myanmar to India, continuing the trend of the outfit’s members returning to their homeland. Batha, one of the topmost leaders of the NDFB (S), was welcomed with open arms in Gossaigaon under Kokrajhar district of Assam.

On January 27, the four outfits of the NDFB, along with the BTC administration and civil bodies signed an agreement with the Government that has been hailed by many as a "peace" pact.
