The Myanmar army’s recent crackdown against Northeastern militants has resulted in the insurgents in the region running helter-skelter. During the operations carried out by the ‘Tatmadaw’ in the region, many camps belonging to the insurgent groups were destroyed.
According to reports, due to the mounting pressure on the militant groups, 28 cadres of the NDFB (Songbijit) outfit have left Myanmar are reportedly Assam-bound.
Running away from Myanmar soil, Evangel Narjary alias Ne Esera, foreign secretary of the NDFB-S and a resident of Kapurpura village in Swrangjuli Mazbat under Udalguri district surrendered before security forces on Sunday along with his security guard. As per sources, he surrendered before 35 Assam Rifles in Mon district in Nagaland along the Indo-Myanmar border and also surrendered an AK-47 rifle along with live ammunition.
The Myanmar Army has reported that camps belonging to militant outfits like NSCN-K, ULFA-I, NDFB-S KLO besides camps belonging to Tripura and Manipur militants were destroyed by the Army as they look to uproot the insurgents from the country due to ever-improving.
