Kokrajhar, October 30, 2019:

A joint search operation was launched by the Indian Army, SSB, Cobra and Assam Police at Ultapani village in Assam’s Kokrajhar district and they nabbed two suspected overground workers of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland's Sangbijit faction (NDFB-S).

The team was led by Major Jitendar, Deputy Cdt L Ratnakar, and Insp Rajnikant Rawa, Kokrajhar Police.

During the operation, a house was searched on suspicion of the presence of overground workers who have helped the NDFB-S cadre in their operations. The team nabbed two individuals who were trying to escape from the site.

The accused have been identified as Nagendra Basumatari (32) and Misak Basumatari, alias Dunga. Both are residents of the Ultapani village in Kokrajhar district.

According to official sources, the duo confessed to being working as over ground workers and have helped the NDFB cadres in the recent past. The duo has been handed over to police at Bisumari, and further investigation is on.
