The Panbari-based unit of the Red Horns Division of the army along with Assam Police jointly apprehended a locally trained National Democratic Front of Bodoland (S) cadre from Udmari in Dhubri district of Assam.

The apprehended cadre has been identified as Sunilal Boro, the son of Gaurao Boro. The joint team of Army and Assam Police recovered a 7.65mm Pistol, a magazine and five live rounds from the cadre. . The cadre was handed over to the police for further investigation.
In a recent incident, six militants belonging to the National Democratic Front of Boroland, Sangbijit faction (NDFB-S) were apprehended by the security forces on September 30 in Kokrajhar district of Assam. The cadres of the proscribed organization were nabbed at the Ripu Reserve Forest of Kokrajhar during a joint operation of the Indian army and Assam police.

Indian Army troops laid multiple ambushes on receiving intel about the presence of the cadres in the area. In the intervening night of 30 September/1 October 19, the ambush party noticed six individuals moving suspiciously in the area, after which the forces nabbed them after a short pursuit.
The cadres soon revealed that they were NDFB(S) cadres trained in Myanmar. The apprehended cadres revealed the location of a temporary camp site close to the spot of apprehension. The troops immediately moved to the camp site and conducted a thorough search. This led to the recovery of one M16 Assault Rifle, six 7.65 mm pistols, twelve magazines, ammunition, medicines, rations, along with several other war like and administrative stores.
