Assam: Smuggler apprehended along with 40 cattle heads on Sunday

GUWAHATI: The Border Security Force under Guwahati Frontier on the intervening night of November 14 and 15 apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler.

On November 15, troops of BSF BOP Jaljali of 62 Bn BSF under Guwahati Frontier carried out a special operation in general area of village Azampara, PS-Tufanganj, Distt-Coochbehar (West Bengal) and apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler along with cattle, while this is being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.

Apprehended cattle smuggler indentified as Hafizur Sheikh (24 Yrs) from Coochbehar (West Bengal).

The cattle smuggler along with seized cattle have been handed over to PS- Tufanganj (West Bengal) for further legal action.

Besides above, vigilant Seema Praharis of BSF have also rescued 40 Nos cattle heads in various other operations from bordering areas of Districts Coochbehar (West Bengal), Dhubri & South Salmara (Assam) while the same were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
