There has been no breakthrough yet in the Junu Sarmah murder case even as more than 42 hours have passed. The motorcycle borne assailant is still at large though the police had immediately launched an manhunt to nab the culprit.
When contacted, Kamrup Superintendent of Police Parthasarathi Mahanta said investigation is on but he refrained from speaking anything more.
The police on Thursday reached the Dadara Branch of the State Bank of India(SBI), and grilled the Manager of the branch Asha Purna Sinha. The police also sought all the files related to the possible financial scam of the branch.
Earlier the husband of Junu Sarmah said that the employees of the State Bank of India (SBI) might be involved in the gruesome murder. He said that his wife had discovered a file related to financial anomalies in the bank.
It may be mentioned that Junu Sarmah, a deputy manager with the Dadara branch of the State Bank of India was shot-dead on October 9 by a motorcycle borne gunman at Agyathuri while she was returning home from her office.
