No longer a jaywalk for BJP leaders in meeting CM!

Following the reported bid on his life by a BJP ward leader in Dibrugarh on Wednesday evening, security has been further beefed up for Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

A senior government official told InsideNE that following the incident, even senior BJP leaders will now have to go through the regular security protocol, including having to walk through the doorframe metal detector.

Subhama Pandey was apprehended by security personnel at the circuit house premises in Dibrugarh after being found carrying a .32 mm pistol. After being taken into custody, he is being questioned by the police.
