NRC Coordinator of Assam, Prateek Hajela confirmed today that no NRC hearings will be held on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr, putting rest to rumors that some people would have to attend the hearings even on the day of the holy festival.
Addressing mediapersons in Guwahati today, the NRC coordinator said that some people have spread rumors and the notices and schedules have been announced a long time back.
Prateek Hajella has confirmed that the 5th of June, i.e., the day of Eid, is not being scheduled for any hearing.
"We have not scheduled any hearings on Eid-ul-Fitr. We will inform the same through our social media platforms as well. It is completely true that we have not scheduled any hearings for the day", Hajella said.
