JORHAT: Jorhat Police arrested notorious criminal Bubu Konwar near Big Bazar in the heart of the town last evening.
Police recovered 35 grams of suspected brown sugar, 62 containers, Rs 6800 cash, two ATM cards, three mobile phones, and a hand bag from him.

Earlier he was also apprehended by Guwahati Police in connection with the suspected murder of a Noonmati resident Dhiraj Talukdar whose car he had sold to NSCN.
The notorious car and bike lifter is also charged of at least 42 murders.
Konwar of Ratanpuria village in Sivasagar district's Amguri police station has been involved in a variety of crimes since he was a child.
According to sources, he attempted to make a bomb for subversive activity even before appearing in HSLC examinations, but the bomb exploded on his side.
Konwar got his criminal career off to a fast start. When he was 16, he began with petty thefts and robberies and proceeded to car thefts, murders, kidnappings, and ransom.
