NSCN (IM) ultra nabbed in Assam's Tezpur

Tezpur: In a latest development, a team of Assam Police has arrested a Nationalist Social Council of Nagalim (Isaak-Muivah) cadre from Sonitpur district.

Based on information by a Kolkata headquartered Military Intelligence unit, Assam police have arrested the NSCN (IM) cadre from Mission Charali in Tezpur. An accomplice of the ultra has also been arrested.

The arrested person, identified as Khampai Wancho (32), is the NSCN-IM secretary of the Longding region in Arunachal Pradesh.

His accomplice, Khunghee Mikkam is reportedly the Vice President of the NPP party's Longding district chapter. The duo was reportedly heading from Dimapur to Itanagar.

Officials have revealed that a pistol has been recovered from the arrested NSCN (IM) cadre.
