BAKSA: One person was seriously injured in a wild elephant attack in Assam's Baksa district late yesterday evening.
The injured person has been identified as Lubin Hembram (40), a resident of Dongorgaon village in Tamulpur in Baksa.
Hembram was attacked around 5 pm when he was grazing his cattle, a wild elephant attacked him from behind, injuring him severely.

He was immediately rushed to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Guwahati for medical treatment.
Planters and workers are worried as wild elephants keep roaming around their paddy fields in the village.
Villagers said a herd of wild elephants has strayed to the village from the nearby forest area in search of food.
