One more case of the COVID-19 has been detected, this time in the Cachar district. With this, the number of cases has now risen to 45.
Assam Finance and Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who made the announcement, said that there are 10 active cases in the State. 34 patients have been discharged and one has died due to the infection.
Yesterday, two cases of the COVID-19 were detected in Assam. A person from Kokrajhar district of Assam with a travel history to Cooch Behar in West Bengal has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Mizoram state, meanwhile, has become the latest in the Northeast to become free from the coronavirus. After a prolonged battle with the disease, the first and only Covid-19 positive case in the state of Mizoram has made a recovery and the state has now officially been declared ‘corona free’. He was undergoing treatment at the Zoram Medical College in Falkawn near the state capital Aizawl.
Earlier today, Tripura Chief Minister Biplad Deb announced that 22 more from the 138th battallion have tested positive for the coronavirus, taking the state’s tally to 64.
In Meghalaya, meanwhile, a lone patient is still waging a battle with the coronavirus.
