In a major development, the Deputy General Manager(DGM) of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation(ONGC) was grappled by the Central Bureau of Investigation on 16th May. The DGM, Logistic Arvind Singh was caught by the private eye of the CBI while he was taking a bribe of Rs 10 lacs by a contractor named Babujaan. He took the bribe at the pretext of offering him a contract of rs 3 Crores.
It is reported that Singh allegedly took an amount of Rs 2 Lacs earlier. The entire incident was brought to light by the same Contactor when he informed the CBI office in Guwahati. Accordingly the CBI with its team arrived Sivasagar and with trickery brought the DGM under its clutch. The incident was coordinated thoroughly by the Contactor.
