Opposition to stand firm against Citizenship Bill: Ripun Bora

Guwahati, January 30, 2019:

The president of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), Ripun Bora on Wednesday confirmed that the opposition has supported to oppose the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 at the Rajya Sabha session scheduled on January 31.

Addressing the median, Saikia said that, Anand Sharma Deputy Leader of Opposition of Rajya Sabha has assured to stand by the Congress party and oppose the Bill in the Parliamentary session tomorrow. He added that verbal assurance has been received and just the formal assurance will be marked out soon.

Speaking on the same line, Sharma has also confirmed that the opposition will stand united against the Bill and oppose it for the greater interest of the people of Assam and North East.
