GUWAHATI: Amid the post-election violence in the state of West Bengal, over 450 people including children have fled their homes and reached Assam today, said Assam state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
They were provided with shelters and relief in Dhubri district.
They are also being tested for the novel coronavirus.

Sarma tweeted.
"Today, a tyrant in ">@MamataOfficial has taken oath as the Chief Minister with blood of innocents on her hands," minister Himanta Biswa Sarma further tweeted.
West Bengal was gripped by widespread violence that left many BJP workers dead and wounded in clashes, as well as shops looted, leading the Union Home Ministry to request a credible report from the state government on attacks on opposition workers.
