The counting of votes for the Panchayat polls is underway.
With Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the lead as of now in Khowang goan Panchayat of Dibrugarh, 9 candidates of BJP and one candidate from Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has won the seats.
While in Lahuwal goan panchayat all the ten candidates of BJP has won. Similarly, in Kachar Pathar goan panchayat ten BJP candidates was successful to occupy ten seats.
Nine wards of BJP and one ward was occupied by Congress in Bogibeel goan panchayat . Six candidates of Congress and four of BJP were backed in Lengeri goan panchayat. In Tengakhat goan panchayat, five of BJP and four of Congress and one seats occupied by AGP. Added in Kolkhua goan panchyat BJP was in lead of two seats.
