Passengers missing after ferry sinks in Brahmaputra

Guwahati (Assam), September 5, 2018:

A ferry, carrying around 40 passengers, reportedly sank in the Brahmaputra river in North Guwahati on Wednesday.

According to initial reports, the ferry collided a pole at the ghat and within minutes it sank in the river. Some passengers managed to swim ashore. There was no news about the others till the time of filing this report.

Teams of the National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force are at the spot to rescue the people.
