Two militants belonging to the banned outfit People's Democratic Council of Karbi Longri (PDCK) were on Friday arrested by police personnel who were assisted by Assam Police Rangers and the CRPF.

The joint team, acting on the information disclosed by two cadres of the PDCK -- Klarbong Teron and Jirsong Ejangpo (who have been sent to judicial custody) -- launched a search operation at Langbongkroi under Dokmoka Police Station along with APRG team and Team No 15 of E/210 CRPF COBRA.
In the early morning hours, two more cadres of the PDCK, identified as Armung Terang alias Cling Terang (aged 25 years) and Longkam Dera alias Mohen Fangso (aged 21 years), were apprehended. A .22 pistol (along with 4 rounds of ammunition) was also seized from the militants.
According to official reports, Armung Terang is a self-styled Lance Corporal of the rebel outfit, whereas Longkam Dera is a 'private trainer' of the PDCK.

It may be mentioned here that the People’s Democratic Council of Karbi Longri (PDCK) is an armed rebel outfit which seeks to obtain sovereignty of the Karbi community, predominantly dwelling in Assam. The armed insurgent group was formed on 27 October 2016 at an undisclosed location under the chairmanship of one Jeksai Kangtang Lijang.
