PEREN: Two persons, reportedly held hostage by the Government of the People's Republic of Nagaland/Nagalim (GPRN)/National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) on March 2 on charges of timber theft were released.
According to a press release issued by the Peren police, it “secured the safe release” of the two persons— Wongkiyan and Peicsisap, “with the active support of all stakeholders.”
A third person, who was also held captive alongside the two, was released on March 9.

The release also said that the two persons were handed over to their respective families after medical checkups and observing required legal formalities.
Further investigation into the matter will continue under the supervision of IGP Range PHQ.
