The final numbers are in and it gives us immense pleasure to announce that over 80 percent of voters exercised their franchises in the 3-phase Lok Sabha elections in Assam. The office of the CEO announced the numbers a day after the final day of polling had been completed in four Constituencies - Gauhati, Dhubri, Barpeta, and Kokrajhar.
The final numbers from the final four Constituencies are:
In Dhubri, 90.66% voters exercised their franchise. 90.87% males voted whereas female voter turnout was registered at 90.44%. 8.33 % of third gender voters came out to vote.
In Kokrajhar (ST) Constituency, 83.16% turned out to vote. Male turnout was 83.35% whereas female turnout was 82.96%. Third gender voter turnout was 2.56%.
In Barpeta, 86.60% of voters cast their votes and while 86.71% of males turned out, females were not far behind as they registered 86.50%. The third gender voters registered 6.25% turnout.
In Gauhati Constituency, 80.81% of voters exercised their franchise; 81.64% males and 79.96% females voted. Third gender voter turnout was 5.13%.
In all, phase-3 registered an 85.11% voter turnout.
Male turnout was 85.49%, while female turnout was 84.72%. 5.10% third gender voters turned out to vote.
Thus, the overall poll percentage in all three phases has been registered at 81.52%. Male turnout was 81.73%, while female turnout was slightly lower at 81.30%. Only 4.89% of third gender voters turned out to vote in the 2019 General Elections.
Counting of votes will be held on 23 May.
