In a bizarre incident, a household in Guwahati found that flour they had bought from a reputed outlet in the city was suspected to be made of plastic powder.
The incident raised the eyebrows of the consumer after learning that the flour was suspected made of plastic powder.
It all happened on February 26 when the consumer prepared 'roti' of the flour and while having it found the taste to be horribly different. Sensing doubt, the consumer kept the dough for a day and while testing it in the evening, found the dough to be completely sticky in nature.
Meanwhile, the consumer has brought the matter to the knowledge of the Food Inspector Samiran Barua and he has assured that strict action would be taken against the store who sold it if proved guilty. Meanwhile, the consumer has decided to send the sample of the dough to the Guwahati based Food Analyst Laboratory.
It may be mentioned that on earlier occasions, reports surfaced from across the state of rice and eggs made of plastic were being sold in the market. It has been alleged that this product comes from China.
