GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit poll-bound Assam on April 1 to campaign for the third phase of the Assam Assembly elections.
The prime minister will address a public rally in Kokrajhar district under Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
Top political party leaders are visiting the state to campaign for their respective candidates.
The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, who has previously campaigned in the state, is also likely to visit again on March 31.

The first phase of voting took place on March 27 which saw around 79.93% voter turnout.
The fates of 264 candidates, including 78 independents and 23 women, were sealed in 12 districts in the first phase.
Polling was conducted in 11,537 polling stations where 81,09,815 voters exercised their franchise.
The second phase of polls will be held on April 1 while the third phase will take place on April 6.
The counting of votes will take place on May 2.
