its all in the family! After the highly controversial Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) cash-for-jobs scam, now it’s the turn of the Panchayat and Rural Development (PnRD) scam to enter the race for the biggest corruption scam in the state.
The PnRD recruitment examinations that had a huge numbers of anomalies that has also been verified in the CID’s report, has taken a new turn as there are allegations of the involvement of Minister for Transport, Industries and Commerce Chandra Mohan Patowary, PnRD Minister Naba Kumar Doley and other Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members for the appointment of candidates in the vacant post. It is alleged that most of the candidates who have been appointed are either relatives or close associates of the above-mentioned ministers.
The selected candidates along with their relation to the Ministers are:
Niva Haloi Patowary, sister-in-law of Minister for Transport, Industries, and Commerce Chandra Mohan Patowary
Anima Pegu, a relative of Minister Naba Kr Doley
Jahar Jyoti Pegu, a relative of Minister Naba Kr Doley
Priju Doley, a relative of Minister Naba Kr Doley
Tultul Pegu, a relative of Minister Naba Kr Doley
Dipali Patir, a relative of Minister Naba Kr Doley
Bhanita Barman, wife of Nalbari district’s BJP president Bandeep Barman
Nijara Barman, sister-in-law of Nalbari district’s BJP president Bandeep Barman
Namita Haloi, wife of Nalbari District Zila Parishad president Nitul Deka
Moloya Neog, wife of Ghagrapar Zila Parisad’s member Pankaj Deka
Mridul Kalita, Mandal Bjp president, Bariguug
Barnali Devi, wife of BJP Yuva Morcha State President Jayanta Saikia
