PnRD Scam: Term of One Man Enquiry Committee extended

Dispur, May 8, 2019:

The Government of Assam has extended the term of the One Man Enquiry Committee headed by Jishnu Barua, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam, Social Welfare, Labor Welfare, Tea Tribes Welfare, Excise Department etc up to May 9, 2019 to complete the enquiry into the alleged irregularities in the selection of candidates through the Combined Competitive Examinations, 2018 under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department.

It may be mentioned that Assam witnessing an uproar over the alleged selection of relatives of leaders connected to the ruling BJP for jobs in Panchayat and Rural Development (P&RD) department.

The results to the recruitment test for over 900 posts were published on March 5 and details of posting were out the next morning.
