Police arrest 7 Chain Snatchers in Guwahati

Guwahati, September 3, 2018:

The Guwahati police arrested a gang of seven chain snatchers and seized 115 mobile handsets from their possession from Basistha Chariali on Sunday night.

Police said that the snatchers were arrested based on certain inputs. They have been identified as Abhisek Dey, Boloram Brahma, Sanjay Singh, Joon Ali, Ajit Rabha, Nantu Dhar and Rahul Choudhury.

The police after arresting them recovered a huge cache of stolen items which included several gold ornaments, 115 mobile handsets, one laptop, one desktop computer, one TV set and more than Rs 20,000 in cash.

These seven persons were actively carrying out several criminal activities in the city over the past years. Currently the police are trying to find out if there are other such snatchers involved with them.
