Prafulla Kr Mahanta to be the new Governor of Mizoram?

Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) senior leader Prafulla Kumar Mahanta is likely to become the new Governor of Mizoram after the AGP moved into an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

According to reliable sources, the chances of Prafulla Kumar Mahanta becoming the Governor of Mizoram are nearly confirmed.

It is to be mentioned that on March 8, the Governor Kummanam Rajasekaran has resigned from his post within less than 10 months as a Mizoram Governor. The resignation of the ex-Kerala BJP Chief Rajasekaran has led to speculations that he will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha election from the Thiruvananthapuram Constituency, where incumbent present LS Member Shashi Tharoor from Congress is going to contest.
