At a time when Assam in its entirety is burning over the implementation of the jati (nationhood) destroying Citizenship Amendment Act, President Ramnath Kovind has poured salt on the wounds of the state by wishing people a "happy" Bohag Bihu, while the State is in the throes of celebrating Magh/Bohag Bihu, the festival of feasts.
A tweet sent out from the President's official Twitter account read: "ব'হাগ বিহু উপলক্ষে অসমৰ লগতে বিশ্বৰ বিভিন্ন প্ৰান্তত থকা অসমীয়া ভাতৃ-ভগ্নীসকললৈ আন্তৰিক ওলগ জনালোঁ। এই উৎসৱে প্ৰতিটো পৰিয়াললৈ কঢ়িয়াই আনক সুখ, শান্তি, সমৃদ্ধি আৰু আনন্দৰ বতৰা।"

(Translation: On the occasion of Bohag Bihu, I extend my heartiest greetings to the Assamese brothers and sisters living not only in Assam, but in all parts of the world. May this festival bring for every family happiness, peace, prosperity, and joy).
Twitterati were quick to troll the President out over this blunder. "Please change it immediately", said one user, while another user said, "Honourable President, with due respect, it is not BOHAG BIHU. Plz note that it is called MAGH BIHU. Hope you will do the needful for correction."
Note: The post in question has now been taken down from the official Twitter handle of the Indian President.
