Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has landed in Assam’s Silchar for a ‘road show’ to campaign for the party candidate from the Constituency, Sushmita Dev, ahead of the ensuing Lok Sabha election on April 18.
A huge crowd of ecstatic supporters has greeted the Gandhi scion on the streets of Silchar as the state of Assam celebrates the most colorful of festivals, Rongali Bihu.
It may be mentioned that this is Priyanka’s first visit outside Uttar Pradesh. Priyanka will hold a roadshow in Silchar, the constituency of Mahila Congress president Sushmita Dev who is battling both anti-incumbency and likely fallout of Congress’ opposition to the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill as she seeks another Lok Sabha term.
